STOP
I was out picking up my daughter from work and was admiring the the evening sunset. I thought to myself what a great looking horizon but due to time restraints I had to keep trucking down the road. Not much was going on the home front today, no amazing pictures to take. I did snap a shot or two of our new grass fire truck and tried on my return trip home to catch some of that amazing sunset but I failed. This weekend is swapers day, a huge yard sale for anyone looking for cloths to guns. Thousands will attend including myself. So the Sony will meet red neck paradise in a few short days. I hope to bring back some good snap shots.

My a55 Sony and a little 50mm 1.7
I have been away for a long time due to family obligations and work but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is senior portrait time for the class of 2013 and business is good. I stepped out for a few shoots after work and came back with some mighty fine keepers. For the most part I have been at work tough and keeping my teenage daughter inline and offline has been a monumental task.
On a good note I did pick up a few flash stands with with umbrellas and a few other odds and ends. In the mess of stuff I bought there was a stack of books and some obsolete Polaroid cameras. I am moving in the direction of one light, a starting point made simple by Zack Arias a photographer out of Atlanta. He did a workshop on using one hotshoe flash, that is it just one. He is a very talented shooter.

My new Sony a55
It is here!!!!! I just recently got the Sony a55 SLT and it is amazing, let me tell you about it.
16.2MP, Translucent Mirror Technology™, Quick AF Full HD Movie, GPS tagging, Live View with Phase detection, 10 fps, 15-point auto focus and a flippy tilty screen!
Did I mention it is amazing, it takes great pictures too. Armed with a 1650 2.8 Sony lens it is an animal. At ten FPS it can capture a speeding,,,, well just about anything. I know it isn't a Nikon or Canon but they can go to hell! Sony is reaching into the future and making it the present with it's translucent mirror system. Sony deserves the respect of the DSLR world for being innovative and original. In a time where technology is growing faster than the national debt Sony gets a blue ribbon in my book but then again my book is a few chapters short of a horror story.
You will see in the in the weeks ahead, the image quality of this consumer grade camera is competitive with the leading (crappy) brands. Stay tuned for some good examples of the ability's of the Sony a55. I am pretty busy at work but I will find the time to shoot.

Landscape trial and error
I have to tell you I am not much of a landscape photographer but I have been inspired by friend of mine to try it out. People pictures, candid or posed are my favorite. There just doesn't seem to be anyone around needing a picture right now. After work this morning I headed up to Dillon Dam, a local man made reservoir just to see what I might find. It is too early in the season for boaters to be out in force and the fishing crew was a little lite also but I ran into a few birds and some muddy water.
After working all night I really didn't feel like doing much walking so I got a few blah shots of the dam and water. I more or less was scouting for something interesting to shoot in the future. I didn't really see much, I came home disappointed. My evening at work was hectic so I felt less than inspired from the start. Maybe after some well needed rest my inspiration might return.

Longaberger Basket Company HQ
The infamous Longaberger Basket Building, people come for miles to see this thing. Rumor has it that after the old man died his daughter has now run the place in the ground and will soon close. But that is just rumor.
